A Letter from Panhellenic’s Vice President of Recruitment:

Dear Potential New Members,

As I reflect on my own journey to the University of Kentucky, I remember the feelings of anxiety and uncertainty that came with stepping into a completely new world. Coming from out-of-state, I didn’t know anyone, and the fear that I wouldn’t find my people or struggle to fit into a new community weighed heavily on me. I had moments of doubt, wondering if I would be able to grow, thrive, and become the best version of myself. But all of that changed the moment I began the recruitment process.

What I soon realized was that the recruitment experience, orchestrated with love, intention, and effort by the Panhellenic Recruitment Team, would transform my fears into excitement. The recruitment counselors who supported me through every step, the speakers who inspired us, and the houses that opened their doors with warmth and authenticity – they all came together to show me that not only would I find my place here, but I would find a family, a community, and a purpose that I never knew was possible. Panhellenic didn’t just give me a chapter; it gave me a home on this campus, one that I could lean on for support, encouragement, and love.

It is because of this experience that I am now proud to serve as the Vice President of Recruitment. I have seen firsthand how recruitment has the power to shape women, to uplift them, and to provide them with the confidence and belonging they need to thrive in all aspects of life. This community of strong, empowered women is bound together by love and a shared desire to see each other grow. The relationships you will build, the leadership skills you will develop, and the memories you will make are just a few of the many treasures you will find when you embark on this journey.

To the PNMs considering recruitment – I encourage you to take the leap. Recruitment is not just about finding a sorority; it’s about discovering yourself and finding your place in a community that will support you, challenge you, and help you become the best version of yourself. It’s an opportunity to meet women who share your values, who will inspire you, and who will walk beside you in your growth and transformation during your time at UK. If you allow yourself to be open, vulnerable, and genuine, you will be amazed by the connections you make, the support you receive, and the doors that open for you.

I also want to share a piece of advice: Trust the process. Recruitment can be overwhelming at times, but remember that every conversation, every interaction, is part of the journey to finding your perfect fit. You will be welcomed, celebrated, and embraced by each chapter as you take this step. Keep an open mind, lean into the experience with a heart full of curiosity, and know that there is a place for you here.

As someone who leads with a heart full of love, I can tell you that recruitment is not just about selecting members for sororities; it is about creating a community built on trust, kindness, and empowerment. It’s about lifting each other up, celebrating our unique qualities, and growing stronger together. Through love, we build a Panhellenic that isn’t just a collection of chapters – we build a family.

I am so excited to be a part of your journey, and I hope you embrace this incredible opportunity to grow, lead, and love alongside so many amazing women. I cannot wait to see the impact you will make on this campus and in our Panhellenic community.

With love,

Bella Blankenbaker
