A Word From Our President

Our Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta was established in 1908, making us the oldest sorority at the University of Kentucky. Since then, over 3,500 collegiate women have become part of our sisterhood. Today, I want to share what Alpha Gam offers each of its members: a sisterhood that has been loving, leading, and lasting at UK for more than 115 years.

Alpha Gamma Delta was founded in 1904 by 11 visionary women who came together to create something bigger than themselves—a sisterhood rooted in purpose, love, and connection. Their words still guide us today, but there’s one line from our Purpose that especially resonates here at Epsilon: “to cherish friendships.” And for over a century, we’ve done exactly that. Joining Alpha Gam isn’t just joining a sorority—it’s stepping into a community of women who are ambitious, genuine, and deeply compassionate. It means being surrounded by people who will lift you up, walk beside you, and believe in you.

We are committed to making a difference in the world around us. Whether it's through service, campus involvement, or leadership, our members strive to leave a positive impact. Leadership isn’t always easy, but Alpha Gams rise to the challenge with determination and heart. You’ll find our sisters involved in nearly every organization on campus—and making a difference far beyond it.

Alpha Gam has been one of the greatest blessings of my college experience. When I first walked through our doors, I never imagined how deeply this sisterhood would shape me. I’ve found best friends, mentors, cheerleaders, and women who inspire me to grow into the best version of myself. The love, intentionality, and strength within this chapter never cease to amaze me.

I joined Alpha Gam in search of a connection. I stayed because I found a family of 287 incredible women. And now, as chapter president, I have the privilege of watching that same story unfold for others. Leading alongside these women is a true honor—one I will never take for granted. What makes this sisterhood so special is how we celebrate each person for who they are while encouraging each other to grow.

Words can’t fully express the gratitude I have for Alpha Gam.

Wherever you are in your journey, I hope you find a place that feels like home. My advice? Stay true to yourself, and the rest will follow. There is so much ahead of you, and we’re all cheering you on. And if your home turns out to be Alpha Gamma Delta—just know we are already so excited to welcome you.
