A Word From Our President

On behalf of the Epsilon chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, we’re excited to welcome you! Today I hope to share with you why over 300 women on campus proudly call Alpha Gam home.

Our Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta was founded in 1908, making us the oldest sorority at the University of Kentucky. Alpha Gamma Delta itself was established in 1904 by 11 visionary women who set out to build something greater than themselves—a sisterhood that is loving, leading and lasting.

There’s one line from our Purpose that truly defines our sisterhood here at Epsilon: “to cherish friendships.” And for over a century, we’ve done exactly that. Joining Alpha Gam isn’t just joining a sorority, it’s becoming part of a community of women who are driven, authentic, and genuinely supportive. It means being surrounded by people who encourage you, stand beside you, and always believe in you.

Through our vision, “Inspire the woman. Impact the world,” our members are committed to making a difference. Whether that be through service, leadership, or campus involvement. Here at the University of Kentucky, you’ll find Alpha Gams involved in nearly every organization on campus. Our philanthropic focus is fighting hunger, and we’re proud to partner locally with groups like God’s Pantry, putting our passion for service into action.

Alpha Gamma Delta is incredibly meaningful to me, and my time here is something I will always treasure. It is a true joy and privilege to serve my sisters in this role. I can’t imagine a more meaningful way to give back to a group of women who have had such a profound impact on my life. Joining Alpha Gamma Delta my freshman year was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I walked through the big red doors, it always felt like home to me.

As you begin your recruitment journey, I hope each of you finds a place that feels like home, just as I did. Remember to be true to yourself and enjoy the process! There is nothing more special than finding your home and being welcomed into a sisterhood of likeminded women who will support and celebrate you for a lifetime.

Loyally,

Tess Stuart
